Based off a Facebook post we decided to try Triada 44.4. The name refers to the Trio of Corn, Chile and Beans. The 44.4 is a reference to the guardian angles. What an amazing place.
Hector who is the main server was amazing. Between each course we tried he was there to wipe the table. Nikolas, the bartender is an award winning mixologist in both Mexico City and Puerto Penasco. Don’t order off the menu, just ask him to make you something special. He will ask what you like and come back with an amazing cocktail.
Andriana, who is the head chef was trained in Mexico and Spain. Her creations are amazing. We started with The Catrin, which was a Black Shrimp in a aguachile sauce with habanero ashes. Additionally there was thinly sliced onions and cucumbers. Both refreshing and a little spicy. Next dish was The Aztec. A tortilla soup made with avocados, pork rinds and cheese. The presentation was Michelin style where they served the dish and then brought the broth and poured it. Totally impressed.
For dinner we had the Charro Chamorro. An amazing braised pork shank done with five different peppers over 8 hours. This was about 15 ounces of pork with two bones, done to perfection. It came with a sauce and vegetables. Additionally we also had The Lil Dove. This was a Picanha with caribe pepper cream. Once more, amazing. They serve the meal with a Macha salsa which is peppers, nuts, salt, pepper and olive oil. You will want to try it any dish served.
Triada was an amazing experience as far as service goes and so great with the food. We will definitely be going back and it was so great to find another Puerto Penasco gem.
