Mi Bonita Restaurant is an exception place to get a weekend breakfast. The buffet, though small as it is rivals the best buffet in Rocky Point which is Playa Bonita (Puesta Del Sol.)
The first thing you notice, unlike a lot of Rocky Point restaurants there is a lot of parking. The family that owns Mi Bonita also owns Maricos El Meno, the seafood restaurant across the parking lot. The second thing you notice upon walking in is the true Mexican vibe. The colors, the decorations. Everything screams Mexico.
The staff is amazing. They are at your beck and call, be it getting food, needing a drink, just wanting to chat. It was not overwhelming but gave a family feel. The food. OH! the food. Once more, a small hot buffet other than the chips and salsa. We loaded our plates twice. The beans were perfect. The chips and salsa homemade and great. All of the meats were cooked to perfection and were so tender they fell apart in your mouth. The soups – red pozole and menudo were to die for. Everything we ate was on point with a traditional Mexican breakfast. A lot of spices and sides to accent your meal. Tortillas were cooked as you needed them.
This will be one of our Sunday breakfast stops as it was just amazing and so tasty. Please give it a try.
