Toskos is a change from the normal Mexican eateries found in Rocky Point. Off the beaten path of the Malecon and Sandy Beach and established on a dirt road. This restaurant offers a fusion-based menu of Greek and Mexican. They refer to it as GreeK-Xican. Toskos delivers fresh, Greek, Lebanese and Mexican -inspired fare with a fun local twist—featuring gyros stuffed with shrimp or beef (sometimes brisket), Mediterranean staples like couscous salads and lokmas, all at great prices. The vibe is relaxed and family-run, with a mix of locals and tourists. Excellent service, and generous portions.
The kitchen, Front of House and service is completely family run. Pick your table and be prepared . Everything was amazing. After the wonderful bread and dips, we went with a Mexican / Greek salsa and hummus plate. We devoured everything and then asked that they leave the dips for later. Later came quickly, and the lamb was awesome, The couscous was off the chart. We had eaten so much before our meals that we ended up taking 1/2 of two meals home. Of course, willing to try everything we opted for a different play on dessert. It was fried rolls of baklava with a chipotle raspberry sauce. This was the only let down on the entire meal. I would have preferred a normal baklava, still with the sauce for dipping.
There is not alcohol service but right down the street there is an OXXO that you can buy from. There is not a corking fee either if you bring your own wine.. This, as many local restaurants in Puerto Penasco is cash only. USD or Pesos, it all works.
