Chef Mickey’s is located on Fremont Street in an nondescript set of buildings that prominently
show a large billboard of Chef Mickey’s Place,

We have been going here for five years based on a recommendation. Craziest thing – we ran into the friends that recommended Chef Mickey’s a few years ago walking in as we were walking out. There is parking in front and on the side of the restaurant that has a wonderful security guard. Please tip him.

Sitting down. the first thing you get is a beautiful wooden board of garlic bread and sauce. Our always next dish is Stuffed Dates (Gorgonzola) and shrimp with a wonderful Gorgonzola sauce. Save the sauce to use the garlic bread and ask for extra bread. There is no charge for the bread. We had the Chicken Marsala three times. What an amazing dish. The Marsala sauce is top notch and the chicken and vegetables are so tender that you wish you could eat more. A gracious plate of food.

Our meals. This is over the course of the last five years, so lets just ramble. The Mexican Combo is a great tribute to Mexico. The deep fried filet taco is a treat. Next you move on to. your cheese enchiladas or your cheese stuffed green chile. Another meal, the Blackened Grouper stuffed with crab is so good. Chimichangas are off the hook. Most of these meals, depending on the culture come with mashed potatoes, baked potato, vegetables, salad, rice and refried beans. Our all time favorite is any soup that Chef Mickey makes. Most are silky, flavorful and every time we go a must have. If you have a party of four or more, there is a brief entry on the menu called “The Chef’s Choice.” This is an amazing sampling of 6 different menu items, selected by Mickey himself. There is also an appetizer and shareable desserts. You will not leave hungry when selecting this item. We have done this twice and both times were left just amazed by the quality and quantity of food.

It is great to be able to spend a little time with the owner & chef as he comes out to check on the customers. Chef Mickey has built an amazing restaurant with a great menu. Definitely a must stop when in Puerto Penasco.
