Tucked along the scenic shores of Cholla Bay, the Cholla Bay Oyster House is a hidden gem for seafood lovers in Puerto Peñasco. The moment you arrive, the laid-back beach vibe and stunning water views set the stage for a relaxed, memorable meal.
The star of the menu is, of course, the oysters — fresh, briny, and served both raw and prepared with creative toppings. Each bite tastes like it came straight from the ocean that morning. The seafood selection doesn’t stop there; from perfectly grilled shrimp to hearty fish tacos, every dish bursts with fresh flavors and generous portions. There of course is a hamburger and pizza menu for the non-SeaFoodies. We were a little disappointed with the baked oysters. Every one was a play on Mexican food. We got it but just felt they were more warmed up than baked and the ingredients tossed on top. Will not order these again.
The Mix Chevice was something to write home about. I don’t know who did it, but at one point someone picked up the bowl and slurped. It was that good. Oyster house crab cakes, once more off the chart. A little bready but so flavorful you just didn’t care.
The bar keeps the coastal mood alive with icy beers, crisp margaritas, and refreshing micheladas that pair perfectly with the salty sea breeze. Service is friendly and unhurried — the kind of place where you feel like a local, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
